Tarpon Springs Aquarium

I had a great day today.  I  went to the Tarpon Springs Aquarium with my Mom's first grade class.  I have to say that it was a cute, small, and interesting aquarium, it didn't really have the space to handle 5 classes of 18 students there.  Granted they did have a lot of neat exhibits.  I got to pet a turtle, alligator, and an albino python.  I also got to feed a stingray.  I would love to go back to Tarpon Springs and just park for the day and walk around to all the little shops there.  I also got have some quality time with my mom.  We went to Dairy Queen and got some ice cream and just sat and chatted for a  while.  I enjoy having time like that with her.  I wish I could get more or I wish that she lived closer.

Had an awesome weekend

I had an awesome weekend.  I went with my fiance to Homassassa Springs Park and walked around for a while.  I took a took a ton of pictures of the animal exhibits.  I love doing stuff like that with him.  I'm glad that he and I have a lot in common. I never thought I would ever find anyone as amazing as him.

On Saturday I drove to my mom's place and got to hang out with her for a bit.  I miss having moments like that with her.  But I guess that comes with growing up and moving on with life.  You can't live with you mom forever.  But I enjoy spending time like that with her.

Today I did some much needed cleaning.  I am amazed at how productive I was this weekend but that I also had fun. 

Long road to a goal.

I just got word from a job I applied for with a Sheriff's office.  I got the job and I'm very excited.  I have a degree in Criminal Justice but haven't been able to use it because I couldn't find a job.  I graduated in 2007 and worked different jobs for a while.  When I graduated I became a substitute teacher and actually enjoyed being around kids and considered going and taking the IA test or going back to school and getting an Education degree.  Then I got a job working Loss Prevention is a retail store and that got me back on this type of job is what I wanted to do.  After doing this for 4 years I realized that I wanted to be able to grow and move up in a company.  It's hard now with so many companies down sizing jobs and taking away upper positions to save money.  So with the support of my family, fiance, and my fiances family I applied to the local sheriff's office for a dispatcher position.  After going through interviews, polygraph, fingerprinting, background check,  and observation.  I finally got word that I got the job and start training for it next month.  I just wanted to write this for anyone that feels that they will never get the job they want to not give up and to keep trying.  Yeah it might take a while but in the end you will find and get that job that you always wanted.

Writing

Yesterday I discovered a program to help me write a story that I have been working on.  It is called ywriter.  I used it for about 6 hours yesterday working and rewriting some parts of my story.  I love the fact that I can go back an just select a chapter instead of scrolling through the whole document.  Looking over my story and rewriting some parts I feel that now my story is coming together now.

My engagement

Yesterday was Christmas and I had the best Christmas ever.  My boyfriend apparently had been thinking and planning this for awhile.  While we were at my Grandmothers celebrating this holiday. He had gone outside with my mom and hid my engagement ring in a bag my mom brought with her.  He then came into the house and called me over to him.  He them told me to close my eyes.  I close my eyes and heard him moving around.  He then told me to open my eyes and I saw him kneeling on the ground with a ring box in his hand.  He said that the past two years of being together were the best and that he wanted us to continue for the rest of our lives and asked me to be his wife.  I said yes and kissed him.  I love him so much and am excited to spend the rest of my life with him.

I'm having one of those months right now where everything just doesn't seem to be going right.  I had a car deal go horribly wrong because the dealer sold me a defective car and then refused to take it back.  The worst part was that he threatened me and my boyfriend because we were backing out.  Then my finances are a mess because I changed jobs and had to take a part time position because they couldn't give me the full time spot.  I'm hoping that the sheriff's office will get back to me on my application soon. I'm trying to write a story that I hope to have published but I'm in writers block right now and it is so frustrating,  I just hope and pray that things start getting better soon.
